Queen Beryl 6

Commission for a client. Includes purple corset and flared skirt, magenta shawl and train, gauntlets, shoulder armor, torso spider, crown, bootcovers, jewelry, and wig.

This is a very special costume because it was created in collaboration with two other companies. Lab 604 did the spider, shoulder armor, and crown, while Steve Hightower Hair Studio did the wig.

Corset: Fully lined, 28 steel bones, two part grommets, coutil strength layer, waist tape, hand finished binding. Nicole added Swarovski Crystal AB rhinestones at top edge.
Skirt: Fishtail style, invisible side zipper, hanging straps, detachable train.
Train and Shawl: Magenta organza. Hand sewn trim on train.
Bootcovers: Removable, knee high length. No, you won't ever see them, but Beryl strikes me as a knee-high boot sort of lady.
Gauntlets: Heat formed plastic. Cut out details done with a drill, dremel, and a good bit of patience. Forgot to take pictures - will update later.
Chest Plate: Base shape fabricated by Lab 604. Covered in dress fabric and Swarovski Crystal AB rhinestones.
Feather Boa: Ostrich feather boa, custom ordered to have a combination pink/lavendar color.
Crinoline: You can't see it, but under the skirt is an adjustable crinoline made of 20 yards of black tulle.

I can't elaborate too much on the armor and wig as I didn't make them, but here is a litle info:

Crown: Custom molded. Make of flexible foam. This. Crown. Will. Not. Break. Scattered with Swarovski Crystal AB rhinestones, size 16ss. Boomerang is a hard piece that needs to be handled more carefully than the crown.
Armor: Custom molded. These pieces are as beefy as they look. Very sturdy - good for corralling con-goers. Fiberglass core.
Spider: Custom sculpted. Attaches to chest plate (also fabricated by Lab 604, then covered by GSTQ) via screws. So, it is removable for cleaning and travel.
Wig: Long, curly red base. Teased to high heaven.
