I wanted to have a costume that met the following criteria: fairly simple to make, comfy shoes, fighting character, brown hair, and a petite frame. Sakura was a pretty obvious choice!

Costume made by me (except for gloves and shoes which I purchased). Photos by Bryan Humphrey.

It has been a while since I bought all of them, but here is what I can remember:

Yellow sash: Cut in a large triangle, out of yellow broadcloth.
Blue skirt and collar: Lightweight denim
White top: White cotton (not as thin as a broadcloth, not as thick as duck cloth)
White headwrap: Linen
Red top and panties: Miliskin
Glove Wrist Wraps: Red marine vinyl

I bought everything except the miliskin from Jo-Ann's.

ohh! that explains how the skirt holds the pleats so well! Thanks ^^ I'd never think of using denim. (and i wish i could sew undies lol) I love how your choice of fabrics make each part of the costume behave so much like they do in their source fandom ^^
